treatment: repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation
(rTMS)
By placing an electromagnetic stimulating
device against
the scalp electrical activity can be induced or modified in underlying brain
tissue. Aimed at the associated area of the motor cortex such stimuli can
produce movement of voluntary muscles. There is evidence that certain mental disorders may respond to treatment with
rTMS.
