Lewy body dementia

(neurocognitive disorder with Lewy body disease)

This form of dementia takes its name for the presence of Lewy bodies (first described by F. H. Lewy in 1913) in brain cells. Clinically it is characterized by hallucinations, delusions, Parkinsonian symptoms and slowing of EEG.
