clinical class

This term applies to a group of drugs that share the same or similar purpose or intended therapeutic effect. We often express this as "anti-disorder" where disorder refers to the mental disorder or physiologic process we intend the drug to counteract. For example, a physician may prescribe an antidepressant drug to counteract depression.
