Frank: ”Ego, reputation...” 
Melissa: ”... maybe we could stay off of the hard stuff for a while and just smoke.” 
Frank cooks heroin
Frank: ”You want a poke?”
Frank injects himself and nods
Melissa: ”... why should that freak you out so much?”

Joe tells Bill, "... don’t worry about it... there I am... drunk... When I get drunk..." 
”... The guy was sellin’ dope... can’t make dope fiends out of anybody anymore...” 
Bill: ”... God knows how many kids he hooked.” (0:49)

Joe tells Bill, referring to the bar patrons, "... they’re smart. They’re smart. They gotta be smart..." 
Bill: ”Joe, you wanna see how smart they really are?” (0:55)

Written on chalk board: "Socrates eats hemlock." (0:57)

Joe tells Bill, "... you don’t have anything to worry about..." (0:59)

Melissa’s friend Phyllis smokes a marijuana cigarette. (1:00)

Joe tells Mary Lou, "... you go crazy...she goes crazy." (1:01)

Joe asks Bill, referring to Joan, "You mean she knows you killed a junkie?" 
”Don’t worry. Don’t worry...”

Joe tells Joan, ”... I want to tell you not to worry about a thing... one junkie murder... a guy who kills one junkie might kill another junkie...” (1:08)

Bill tells Joan, "... the crazy thing about Joe is..." 
”... I saved the world from another lousy junkie...” 
Melissa: ”... Why didn’t you tell me Frank was dead?” 
Joan: ”... You were just coming down from the drugs.” 
Melissa tells Bill, ”... You killed Frank, and I loved him.” (1:12)

Bill tells his secretary Janine, "... my behavior has been a little erratic..." (1:16)

By telephone, Bill tells Joe, "... Melissa ran away from the hospital..." (1:17)

A drug dealer asks Bill and Joe, "You guys looking for some, uh, grass, maybe?" 
Bill answers Joe, ”From the junkie...” (1:24)

The dealer tells his friends, "... I said, ‘you guys looking for some grass?’" 
Dealer’s friend: ”... they could be narcs...” 
Dealer: ”Nah, they ain't narcs. I know narcs. Narcs have long hair...” 
Woman: ”... They wouldn’t have grass. Nobody’s got grass.” (1:24)

The dealer asks Bill, "... You really got some grass?" (1:25)

Partier: "... The grass famine is finally over." 
Dealer: ”Acid, grass... hash, coke, speed, psilocybin..." 
Partier: ”Am I gonna trip.” 
Bill, referring to Joe: ”His mother is a junkie.” 
Partier: ”It’s the greatest... drug...” 
”It’s like a dream... It’s like a drug-head’s dream.” 
A partier insufflates from a hookah then shares it with Joe. 
Joe: ”... in case I get drunk...” 
Bill insufflates from the hookah. (1:26)

A party asks her friend, "Can I have the dope?" 
A partier tells Bil, referring to Joe, ”Your friend’s pretty uptight...” 
”She’s anti-fetish.” (1:31)

The partier tells Bill, "You never screwed on grass before..." (1:34)

Joe tells Bill, "... the drugs too..." (1:37)

Joe smacks the girl in the face repeatedly. (1:37)

Bill realizes he has shot Melissa. (1:43)
