Beth, referring to her ice skater friend, Alan’s fiance, Samantha Gray: ”After her mother died, she lost contact with everyone...” (0:10)

William Haskin appears to experience a flashback to a traumatic event. (0:13)

Ticket clerk Ron tells Samantha, referring to a caller, "Had a rather funny, nervous little voice." (0:16)

While shopping at a grocery store, Samantha hears someone calling her name. (0:34)

Samantha tells the checkout clerk, "... There’s a man, he’s following me..." (0:35)

Leonard asks Samantha, referring to her family, "... is it true you’re not in touch with any of them?" 
Referring to her mother Maria Longworth: ”I believe she died when you were quite young.” 
Referring to patient Eric Stephens: ”I know what you’re thinking, but don’t worry. I’ve been treating him for two years. There’s hardly a week goes by without him making an attempt on his own life...” (0:37)

Leonard asks Samantha, "How long has he been following you?" 
Samantha: ”He was my mother’s lover. She died...” (0:45)

Young Samantha (then Jean Longworth) watches as William Haskin attacks her mother. (0:47)

Samantha tells Leonard, referring to Haskin, "... He was ripping her to pieces..." 
”But he’s mad...” 
Leonard: ”... the wedding sparked off certain associations...” (0:47)

Leonard tells Alan, "... perhaps we ought to meet again when you’re sober..." (0:52)

A police detective tells Alan, "... This is the sixth or seventh report we’ve had of a peeping Tom in this area."

Joy tells Samantha, referring to Maria, ”She says she’s very proud of you and your new husband... you’re not to worry about her... The patients needed me...” 
Mrs. Wallace answers Samantha: ”Yes, she’s fainted...” (1:11)

Samantha asks Joy, "Can’t you remember why you fainted?" 
Joy: ”When I’m in a trance, I’m on another plane...” (1:15)

Someone strikes Joy on the head repeatedly with a hammer. (1:18)

Alan tells Samantha, referring to Mrs. Wallace, "... she’s a nutcase." 
Samantha: ”... if I told you my whole life history, you’d realize that I was a complete neurotic...” 
”Look, don’t worry...” (1:19)

Beth tells Samantha, "Well, there’s no sign of the Creature from the Black Lagoon." (1:20)

Samantha tells Mrs. Wallace, "... don’t worry." 
Mrs. Wallace: ”I’ve lost Joy. I’ve lost her.” 
”She’s dead...” (1:21)

Samantha tells B, "... supposing that patient didn’t kill Leonard." (1:22)

Someone stabs a large needle through Mrs. Wallace’s head. (1:27)

Samantha reacts to the death of Mrs. Wallace. (1:28)

B tells Samantha, "... It was like a bad dream." (1:32)

Maria tells Haskin, "Oh, you’re so crazy." (1:39)

Samantha tells Haskin, "You’re mad..." 
Haskin: ”You’re two different people. One doesn’t know about the other...” (1:40)
