An effort to 'get back to the things themselves,' apart from any theoretical perspective on those 'things.' This approach to philosophy, created by Edmund Husserl, was imported into psychiatry by Karl Jaspers, as the basis for psychopathology and for psychiatric practice. (Thanks to Michael A.
